Join Leeds Cookery School for a hands on lesson in perfect pastry and pie making! You will learn lots of skills on this class that will help you with a wide range of dishes and leave with an excellent Chicken and Truffled Mushroom pie made with Parmesan and thyme shortcrust pastry, ready to be baked at home.
Techniques you will learn:
- Learn how to make, rest, roll, blind bake, crimp and glaze short crust pastry.
- How to make an excellent chicken stock.
- How to make a roux and a velouté for your filling.
Full recipes including ingredients and method are provided for you to take home to add to your repertoire so you can keep on cooking them time and time again.
- Chicken and Truffled Mushroom Pie for two.
What you can take home:
You will take your pie home, ready to be cooked.
There is a tasting session after each class where you have the chance to sample the tutor’s version of the dish.
Please note that you will need to bring a couple of sizeable (minimum 1L) food storage containers to take your food home in, everything else is provided.
Tea and coffee are provided throughout on all of our classes.
