When it’s cold outside there’s nothing better than getting all the family together and cooking up some comfort food in a cosy kitchen. And comfort food seems to almost always be synonymous with traditional British grub!

Whether you’re struggling to master a fish pie or just can’t seem to get your timings right for a roast dinner, we have a whole program of classes designed to give you the tips, tricks and recipes you’ll be using for years to come.

So, roll up your sleeves, don your apron and get cooking!

A Great British Fish Pie – 8th March, 6:30pm – 8:30pm

We welcome the humble fish pie and give it a Leeds Cookery School twist. You’ll learn everything you need to know to create this hearty family dish, including how to fillet your fish, make a béchamel sauce and inject flavour into your mash.

The Perfect Roast Dinner – 15th March, 1pm – 3pm

Take the stress out of your Sunday lunch with our roast dinner class. You’ll learn the art of multi-tasking, cooking a full roast chicken dinner complete with all the trimmings. Think crispy roast potatoes, buttered spring greens and homemade rich chicken gravy. Need we say more?

How to cook the perfect steak – 1st or 15th March, 6:30pm – 8:30pm

Do you know your ribeye from your rump? Join our resident chef, Simon Chappelow for a masterclass on everything steak. You’ll learn how to expertly prepare and cook your steak just how you like it, how to double fry chunky chips for crispy, yet fluffy perfection and of course how to make a creamy brandy and peppercorn sauce.

The Great British Banger – 17th March, 1pm – 5pm

Join master butcher, Richard Setchfield for a 4-hour masterclass on sausages. You’ll learn the secrets of a good filling and how to achieve different flavours and textures. You’ll even get to design and make your own signature sausages to take home.
