FAQs

About Classes

  • Do I need to bring anything to the class?
  • You do not need to bring any equipment or ingredients with you as this will be provided by us and is included in the cost. If you want to bring your own containers you are very welcome to do so but don’t worry if not, just bring an empty stomach!

  • Can I bring my own ingredients?
  • All courses include ingredients, so you don’t need to worry about it. In case you have any special dietary requirements such as Halal, please call us to discuss. If you would rather source this yourself then we can let you know the amount of ingredients needed and you can prepare your own meat. Please keep the receipt for reimbursement.

  • I don’t have much cooking experience. Is the class suitable for me?
  • Of course! All of our classes are designed for everyone of all skill levels. We have now introduced a level rating into our workshop descriptions. However, we have done so more to set the customers expectations for the experience. We are confident anyone with any skill level would be able to complete any workshop we run. Our chefs will make sure you enjoy the class!

  • I would like to bring a child to a class. What is the age requirement?
  • At Leeds Cookery School we are passionate about encouraging children to develop their knowledge and abilities in cooking. For Parent & Child classes, we recommend the child to be aged 6 or above and be accompanied by an adult.

For other classes, it will be case by case as it will depend on the individual and style of workshop. All children under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Please contact us if you have any questions.

    About Bookings

  • I cannot come because of illness / train strike etc. Can I cancel the class and get a refund?
  • In the unfortunate event that you need to cancel your place on a class, you may do so  by email or by calling no later than 14 days prior to the class date without charge.  However, if you cancel or transfer less than 14 days prior to the class date, you will not be eligible for a refund. You may, of course, swap the name on your booking so someone else can attend in your place.

  • Can I reschedule the class?
  • You can reschedule the class, without charge, if you inform us no later than 14 days prior to the class date.  Unfortunately, if your workshop is within 14 days from contact we will be unable to transfer or refund as we will have pre ordered ingredients and timetabled staff accordingly. As with our cancelation policy we are happy for you to gift your place to a family member or friend.

  • I am not good using internet, can I book the class through phone call?
  • Of course! You can call us on 0113 323 7700 during office hours. We are happy to book the class for you over the phone.

  • I would like to book the class this weekend but I cannot make the booking online. Can I still book the class?
  • To allow sufficient time for us to prepare food ingredients, we normally accept bookings up to 5 days before the class. However, if you want to attend a class which will take place in 2-4 days time, you may call us to check the availability and we will try our best to assist you.

    About Vouchers

  • I received a gift voucher. How can I redeem it?
  • You can go to our class list and find the workshop you wish to book. Please fill in the information required and you will be directed to the payment page in the check-out process. You can simply enter the gift voucher number into the box and the system will credit your basket with the voucher. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

  • I would like to buy a gift voucher for my friend. What is the validity of gift voucher? Can I personalise the voucher?
  • The validity of a gift voucher is 12 months. We are happy to send a personalised email with the electronic gift voucher to your friend. Please contact us and let us know the recipient’s email address and we will send out the email accordingly.
